It took a little longer than I wanted to decide who should win Shadows of Oblivion’s Fan Art Contest. I blame all of the great art I received. If it wasn’t so good, it wouldn’t be so hard to decide….BUT a decision has been reached…. And the winner is……..
ANDREW GARI

Andrew’s composition and high energy line work is what attracted me to this piece initially. What put him in the running for winner (and ultimitely pushed him into the winner’s circle) was his ability to capture the gritty inner torment Cerberus feels throughout the series. As a Side note: it tickled me as the creator to know he picked up on a very subtle detail. In nearly every issue Cerberus says “Well, come on..” It’s nice to know that fans of my work pick up on those little detail.
Make sure you check out Andrew’s Deviant Art page for more fantastic artwork!
All the artwork I received for the contest was absolutely amazing. If you haven’t already checked out the Gallery of the submissions yet, please do, There is some great artwork there, and they all deserver your attention!
As I said the artwork was so good I had a really tough time deciding who should win. As such I don’t think it’d be fair for me not to mention a few of the other pieces I really enjoyed. I guess you’d call these your honorable mentions.

For such a young artist Gianna has some incredible skills. I wish I had this talent when I was her age. She managed to capture WarAngel as just an every day person. No elaborate wings, deadly weapons, or exaggerated physique, just an every day person. It’s so refreshing I can’t help but love it. Make sure you check out more of her work on Deviant Art!

This piece by Art was unique among the entries. His line work managed to capture the dark and gritty feel I strive for in my comic. I particularly like the camera angle chosen for this piece. Bonus points for having a background as well. None of the other submissions included a background. Check out his blog for more great artwork!
