HeroesCon 2017 Auction Piece: Part 4 Color
Every year HeroesCon holds an auction to raise money for the convention. The money pays for travel expenses for guests as well as keeping prices low for fans.
This year for the auction I did a water color piece of Beta Ray Bill and Throg from the Thor comics.
I thought you may be interested to see the process i used to create the art, so here we go!
Part 4 is about the colors. After the inks have dried it’s time to color! I used Derwent brand Watercolor pencils to color the piece. The water color pencils allow me to mix colors while they’re still dry requiring a minimal amount of water needed for the painting. It also allows me to get very vibrant and bright colors, something that is not inherent with a regular form of watercolor paint. Once painted and dry, I went back over some of my line art, bringing out some lines the paint covered, as well as adjusting the line weight in other parts. And the final step was the use of my white gel pen. And used it for white highlights as well as the Lightning around Beta Ray Bills Hammer. TADA! NOW THE ART IS DONE!
If you like my comics and art and would like to support it, consider picking something up from my Store Envy shop.
I hope you liked seeing the process. Let me know if that is something you’d like to see more of. Make Comics, Not Excuses!
