So selling out of Shadows of Oblivion #1: Special edition, inspired me to do this fun little cartoon. WarAngel is not happy that she didn’t get a copy of the special edition…. but you can still get the regular copies of the comic:
Just go to shawnmccauley.com to get your copy (print and/or digital)
I’ve always wanted to try coloring “old school” so I took this opportunity to.
For those of you who didn’t know back in the “old days” of printing (which was really just 20 years ago) You couldn’t get the same gradients and opacities you can today from your pinter. It only printed solid red, blue, yellow, black (or more specifically cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) So thats what I colored with. No opacities, no transparencies no gradients. Only those 4 solid colors. You use varying size dots of color to give the optical illusion of light or dark. and you overlap dots of your primary colors to get your secondary colors. It was a bit challenging, but i think it came out pretty good.
Anyways, Thank you to everyone who bought the special edition of my comic! I’ll be posting issue #2 fairly soon!
